recipe for success

Recipe for a successful gingerbread making party:
1 house large enough to hold 5 families, and large enough to contain ensuing hilarity and silliness from an  over indulgence of m&m's
5 beautifully made gingerbread palaces, put together with the hardest edible glue imaginable;-)
many bags of goodies to decorate with
1 lovely (and borrowed)Kitchenaid to mix the frosting(you're welcome again Beth)
1 wonderful and generous family who lovingly shares their delight in the holiday with friends

Put all of these things together, with a bit of imagination, and a lot of sticky fingers and you have a lovely gingerbread church, fully edible (although if you can take it apart you deserve a prize;), with fantastic candy and cereal trees, a perfectly shingled Ritz roof, gumdrop stained glass, and the piece de resistance, a minty satellite (every church has them these days you know;-)!!!
It was such fun, the house is lovely, the children fun and generous, wonderful people to talk to and hang out with, all around a perfect holiday get together.
We have been so blessed with the church family we have found, and are so very thankful that they have welcomed us and our children, it is fun gatherings like these that reinforce why we homeschool, and why we struggled to find a church where we belong.  We have found our home church, and it is a recipe for grace and love that we will happily add to for many years to come.
