Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

Well, we went on Saturday and got our tree, it was a gorgeous day, perfect for hunting up and down the hills to find the perfect tree!! We had a hard time choosing, Julianna particularly liked a small Charlie Brown tree, seriously it looked like an Eagle might nest in it at any time, or maybe an Egret around here!! But I found a nice tree, not too fat, and not too tall, just nice and full of many branches to hold all of our decorations. So Jon brought it in and set it up, and now we will decorate it tonight, we always have chinese and decorate the tree, yummy!! Mia really wants to know why we have a tree in the house, and wants to know when we can put the lights on it to make it sparkle, she is too funny. So far the tree has not had any mishaps, no little boy hands have tugged it over, no cat has run up it, so all is good with the tree right now. This year we will forgo our fragile ornaments, and use mostly the fabric and sturdy ornaments to decorate, to save them from little hands, and the dashing cat!!! Julianna's first, no second I guess, tree decided to take a tumble one night, I managed to grab her out of the way just in the nick of time, but sadly many of our fragile ornaments did not fare well, so we are really careful now since many of those ornaments are old, like more than 30 years(ancient I know!!;) ), and many came from our travels and honeymoon. We even found a wonderful donkey ornament(a la wise men style), in Ethiopia, so we will hang that on the tree this year. Poor Mia though, I can even now hear her questions"why does Julianna have so many ornaments?" ""when will I have lots of ornaments?". Every year we give J an ornament, so now each of the kids will get a different ornament, and when they move out and leave home(in a billion years of course), they will have a bunch of ornaments to decorate their own tree. This is a tradition my mom started with my sister and I, and Jon's parents too, so we have quite a collection on our tree!! This evening should be fun though, if we can control Gabe and his busy hands, and manage to answer Mb's million questions about what things are, and why, and whose, when etc. you get the point! Gotta go it is time for school, Jamie
Oh and doesn't my hubby look so studly with his chainsaw in hand. He is such a manly man he had the tree down in just a few minutes, makes my heart go pitty pat still:) go baby go!! love J.
