Well, jsut a quick post today, and since nothing is is caps you can be assured that we do not yet have a trvel date:( . Our SW is sure that our papers have arrived att the NVC, but that our congressman's office was not using our ID number, so we are waiting for her to call today with news, then everything will be in caps!!! If our papers have arrived and can be emailed then our very sweet and patient SW has space held for us and has given us a tentative travel date, but I shall not jinx it yet, I will try on my patience hat today!!!!
In other, happier, funnier news, we met another adoptive mom and her 5YO yesterday, they were so much fun!! Gina and Amelia were great to talk to, and Julianna and Amelia had so much fun playing at the mall coffee shop while we talked. J and A look a great deal alike, and even sort of dressed alike too, but I accidentally started talking to A thinking she was J, they have the same face shape, haircut and eye color, they are startlingly similiar, and I am quite a bit like Gina, with slightly longer hair. We had a great deal in common, outside of adoption, so it was fun to chat and get to know each other a bit. Thanks for meeting us Gina and Amelia, and thanks for letting us go to the bear shop with you too, loads of fun(and a few tears from J, she did not want to leave her new friend!!)
Adoption it neat this way, it brings together many people who on the outside have little in common with each other, and connects them. Then you often find that they have similiar views on so many things, and the same experiences, or worries for your children. Jon commented after meeting Gina, that most of our friends(outside of family) are comprised of adoptive families. We just find that we do not have a lot in common with other families really, not to be long time friends at least. I admit we are picky about who we will be friends with, for J's sake as well as the fact that we have limited time to see friends, so we are not going to waste it, but really our greatest friends now are our adoptive friends. They are the ones we call when we need a bit of comfort, and want to share a laugh, they are who we rearrange schedules to hang out with for a Friday night out, they are the best!!!! Family is too so we have the best of both worlds I guess!!
Gotta go to work, J
