I love making lists, and even better than making them is checking things off of them, and recently i have been able to check a huge bunch of things off of my running "To Do" list. I am a list creator and keeper, i often run around at work with a list or two in my pockets, one for things to do for the day, week and what i need to get at the grocery store, plus a list of what i want us to cover in homeschool for the next week or two, and what we are having for dinner for the next few days, Whew a lot of lists. I get this habit of list making from my mom, the ultimate list maker, she has a list for everything, even as kids she would have a list for each of us for chores and homework things, so it is a genetic quirk i think, since my dear husband has no concept of what a list could possibly be used for!;)
so back to what i have marked off of my list recently, a few biggies that got a BIG check(thereby making me feel very accomplished!!)
1: got all dossier info into to adoption agency and got it approved and are now on "The Waiting List" for a referral!!!
2: went and got fingerprints done at the US Citizenship and Immigration Services office, it was neat and a bit harder than they make it look in CSI, but a cool process, and one more big check on the list(this step needs to be done so we can bring our children into the country) bad side to this is that i can no longer embark on a life of crime since i have now become part of the "System", ah well i will have to remain a boring mommy i guess:)
3: have defined proof that Julianna is learning in homeschooling. this one is tougher since it is an ongoing goal(well rounded education) but we use no specific method for gauging her knowledge and comprehension. I had proof the other night though when we were reading a book before bed, it is an I spy alphabet book and at the end it shows all of the letters of the alphabet both capital and lower case, and she told me what each letter was with only a few errors. This may not be a lot for a 4 year old, but we don't exactly drill her on the letters and have posters of them up everywhere like a schoolroom does, we just point them out and tell her the sounds they make in different words. She then went on to spell the words on my shirt and the title of the book as well, so i think we have success in the alphabet comprehension, Yippee!!
4: mothers day gift for my mom, CHECK, already given and today i am going over to her house to begin, i have given her hours of my time to do gardening for her, to get the house ready for the wedding reception that will be this summer. It is a boringly practical gift, but a much appreciated one i know, and i have a great gift for Patti(M-I-L) but will not post it here since she may read this before Sunday, but she will like it!!
So i am currently feeling very smug and accomplished, Yeah for me!! And i have just finished blogging, the puppy has been groomed, the laundry and dish washer are running, and the garden is getting watered, i am super mom hear me roar!!!!! Okay now back to the rest of my list which includes ripping out a wall and building a new bed, closet and desk area, plus getting the rest of my veggie garden planted, i have work to do, but for now am going to savor the quiet satisfaction with a cup of coffee and some back patting, MMMMMMMM bliss:)
