Well, this week has been crazy, Jon had a birthday, and we went to NH to the Budweiser brewery for the free tour, and tasting, and to see the Clydesdale's, it was fun!! The micro brew beers that Bud makes are actually pretty good, and the place is huge, and very gorgeous!! The tour was fun and interesting, and with the horses to look at, a good time was had by all!! Then a bit f wandering around Nashua, and an arcade full of games to round out the day, fun and tiring! Thankfully this week we have not had a ton of P visits, since it has been a tough week in general for all. AB has had a hard week with getting in trouble, and for her inability to listen and follow simple directions, we are working on her ability to self control, this is where she gets into the most trouble. She gets wound up and then cannot stop herself from trouble, but so far our new method of teaching self control seems to be helping. Julianna this week has had more bangs, bruises and wailing fits than in many other weeks combined. Currently she is sporting a black eye due to a run in with someones forehead, and she has found a new voice in her range of wails and whines, and it is very obnoxious!! I have recently discovered that if Gabe was our first child then he may have been an only child!! He is like a black hole for attention and time, I swear he just sucks it all out of you sometimes! He requires so much effort and attention the poor girls get the short end of the deal in this area lately unfortunately. I have been trying to work with them more, but teaching G to be self reliant and entertaining is not easy, he is stubborn and will work to get what he wants, no matter what!! He is not the most compliant child, and in the last week his abilities and development have exploded(thanks to his nifty new glove!!), but his personality has gone on a big back slide, GGGRRRRR!!!! Consequently he has spent some time in our newest addition to the dining room, the time out chair. He is a frequent resident, as he cannot seem to control his snatching and slapping hands. He is still sweet and funny, and cuddly, but firmly in the grip of the "I can do it myself" monster, and the terrible two's all at the same time, YIKES!!!! Hopefully this too will pass as he adjusts to his new abilities and developments, I hope!
Well next week will be a big week for our house, Gabe will be visiting Hasbro for two separate visits, one visit for neurology, the other for Infectious diseases, loads of fun there!! To make the week more fun though the kids are spending an evening with some friends, and their little girl Kidist, they love Kidist and will have fun playing for hours with her, and eating goodies. I will be taking Jon out for an evening sans kids, just like when we were young, only the evening will end around 8p!!! we will have fun though and the kids will not even miss us, they will likely be sad to see us arrive to take them home!!
Last I want to send a huge (((((HUG))))) to Gina, Lou, Amelia and Tadelech!! Gina is in Ethiopia right now getting ready to bring home Tadelech and we want to send her many warm wishes and love. We went to see them at home last week to bring her last minute items, and advice and she was ready to go, just last minute little stuff to do, and seeing her like that, then seeing pics of T with her nannies made me really miss ET for the first time, and really want to go back, like a deep down tug at my soul. I cannot wait to see her pictures and see the folks we met, and how things have changed in the last few months, especially the countryside heading south, I cannot wait 'til she comes home!! Love to Lou and Amelia who are waiting at home too, cannot wait to see that baby!!!
Gotta go save the tribe from self destructing!! Jamie
