Well we had the kids dedication in our church on Sunday, it was great, except for the part where Gabe had a flop on the floor and wail fit, right before we were supposed to go up front. Normally not a problem for this, I just take him out into the vestibule and he calms down and we go back in, but with so much family there I had a hard time getting Gabe up off the floor, too many legs and feet, and had a tough time getting out of the pew, I was of course in the middle!! So the whole church got to hear him wail, fun, fun, fun!! He calmed down though, and we were just reentering the sanctuary when Jon came to find us, it was time, and I was late, of course! No big deal, we just collected the girls and went up front with Julie and Amanda, then the Pastor told everyone about how great we are, and how loving a family, and how he remembers dedicating Julianna when she was little, and how great to see her grow into her new role of big sister. He talked about writing our letter of recommendation for the adoption, and how he was sure we had love to share with more children, and how we understood how we were being blessed by God with the gift of all of our children to raise and cherish. It was a great service, my sister thought it was very funny and interesting how the Pastor did not really quote scripture, but paraphrased and gave examples, but no preachy thing. It was a nice service, and our church friends were happy to see many of our family come and join us, as well as friends. The picnic after was good too, people chatted, my aunts and uncles had a chance to chat and see the kids in all their glorious action, MB and J were funny, sweet, wild and vivacious all at the same time, and of course Gabe when he gets over his shy guy routine is his usually cuddly and sweet self, despite still cutting molars and now eyeteeth!! Everyone chatted and ate, the weather cleared off so that we could open the doors and the kids ran outside after eating, it was a good time for all I think.
Unfortunately Tia had to go home on Monday, so all the kids were sad, and a bit grumpy, and want Tia back to play with and hang on, she is very fun!! Thanks to all who came from near and far, we really appreciate you making the time to come and be with us at this special time for our kids, and thanks to all who could not be there for your warm thoughts and prayers, and thanks to McKade for all the new clothes!!!
